I actually like both, but they really don't mix.
There's nothing more appealing than a lush green, compact lawn that has more time spent on it than Wimbledon Centre court (I have seen this first hand, when working on a construction project at SW19).
But alas, we don't have an army of green fingered engineers to tailor, nurture and manicure the lawn to within an inch/millimeter of its short life.
